Our promise
What we will not ask you to explain
Most of us have answered the same questions for years: from relatives, from doctors, from other therapists. Here is what we leave alone, and what we ask instead.
You can say pass
Any question, any time. We move on and do not ask why.
You decide what we know
You tell us what you want us to know, in your words and at your pace.
We hold ourselves to it
If a question of ours lands wrong, say so. We would rather hear it.

The list
Six questions we leave alone
Your name or pronouns
We will not ask what you were called before, or for another name. We ask what to call you.
Why you are who you are
We will not ask when you knew, how you knew, or whether you are sure. We ask what feels true today.
Your family
We will not ask you to defend them or explain them. We ask who is in your corner.
Your culture
We will not ask you to translate your language, faith or food for us. We ask what matters to you in it.
Your body
We will not ask about surgery, hormones or what you plan. If you bring them, we listen.
Your papers
We will not ask for ID, a legal name or documents to book. Your fee is the only thing we put in writing.
Instead
What we do ask
What to call you
Your name and pronouns, and whether it is fine to use them in a voicemail or text.
How to reach you
The times and the method that suit you, and whether anyone else might see a message.
What you want from this
In your words, when you are ready. It can change.
What would make a session feel off
So we can change it before it becomes a reason to stop coming.
If a question ever lands wrong
Say pass. We will move on and not ask why. Then tell us after, if you want, so we can do better.
